Reports and templates
Every consultation is generated against a template. The template defines the sections, tone, and layout of the draft.
Built-in templates
Section titled “Built-in templates”DocNote ships specialty templates for discharge letters, ward-round notes, operative reports, emergency notes, and many outpatient formats. Pick the template that matches the encounter before you record, or change it later and regenerate.
Custom templates
Section titled “Custom templates”On Professional, you can create your own templates:
- Open Settings → Templates
- Create a template or upload a Word / PDF example
- Edit the instructions and example output
- Use it on the Record tab like any built-in template
You can also drop a .docx file with your letterhead, signature, and section structure. Later exports keep that layout.
Reviewing a draft
Section titled “Reviewing a draft”Open the report to edit the markdown. Every line break is preserved — what you see is what gets emailed, copied, and exported.
A consultation can hold several documents (for example a discharge letter and a referral). Switch between them in the report viewer.
From a generated report you can ask DocNote to revise a section, add a missing fact, or produce a related document. Attachments you add in chat are included in that request.
Regeneration
Section titled “Regeneration”Adding audio or attachments after the first draft arms automatic regeneration. You can also regenerate manually from the report actions.
